Nominations Open for National Awards for e-Governance 2026 Across Seven Categories

National Awards for e-Governance

New Delhi: The Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances (DARPG) has announced the scheme for the 23rd National Awards for e-Governance (NAeG) 2026, inviting nominations to honor innovative digital governance initiatives across India.

The National Awards for e-Governance aim to recognize outstanding projects that transform governance through technology, promote citizen-centric services, and set benchmarks for digital transformation. Nominations can be submitted online at www.nceg.gov.in between 1st September 2025 and 15th October 2025.

National Awards for e-Governance 2026: Seven Categories

This year’s awards will be conferred in seven categories:

  • Government Process Re-engineering using technology for digital transformation.
  • Innovation through AI and new-age technologies for citizen-centric services.
  • Best e-Governance practices or innovations in cyber security.
  • District-level e-Governance initiatives.
  • Grassroots-level initiatives by Gram Panchayats or equivalent bodies to enhance service delivery.
  • Replication and scaling of nationally awarded and mission-mode e-Governance projects.
  • Digital transformation using data analytics in digital platforms.

Projects must have been launched between July 1, 2023, and June 30, 2025, and be fully operational by August 1, 2025.

Awards and Incentives

A total of 16 awards will be given — including 10 Gold Awards and 6 Silver Awards. Gold Awardees will receive a trophy, certificate, and an incentive of ₹10 lakh, while Silver Awardees will get a trophy, certificate, and ₹5 lakh. The incentives are to be utilized for project implementation or public welfare initiatives.

The awards are open to Central Ministries/Departments, State/UT Governments, District Administrations, Gram Panchayats, Startups, academia, and R&D organizations.

By honoring impactful projects, DARPG aims to encourage the replication of successful e-Governance models and accelerate India’s digital transformation journey.
